The Pachanga Collection...

was created by Ecuadorian artist Belén Mena in 2003, when she became captivated by the intense colors and intricate patterns of several moths during one moonlit evening. "Pachanga" means festive party in Spanish. The Pachanga Collection boasts over 300 different species of moths, each uniquely beautiful and features a photograph on a contrasting background, along with a vector representation and a series of inspired patterns and designs of each moth. Some patterns have a clean geometric feel while others feature intricate details.

A book featuring a small portion of Mena's collection was created by German publishing house, Schmidt Verlag and sold in the U.S. exclusively at Anthopologie stores. The book received numerous awards including the Gold Award at the 2008 International Forum of Design competition, and an Honorable Mention at the Art Directors Club Deutschland.
